Sonic Superstars launched all the way back in October, but the good folks at Sega are still releasing new content to freshen up the experience. One of these updates was announced back in January when Sega revealed that Sonic X Shadow Generations was coming later this year to home consoles. To celebrate the game announcement, Sega promised that Shadow DLC was coming soon to Sonic Generations.

When I first heard about a Shadow costume being offered as free DLC in Sonic Superstars, I initially assumed it would merely be a Shadow reskin for Sonic. However, dear reader, I am thrilled to report that I couldn’t have been more wrong. The Shadow costume in question is not just a mere reskin; it’s a legitimate costume that Sonic dons, seemingly fulfilling his deepest desires to embody Shadow.
