Switch indie puzzle hit Suika Game has been growing in popularity over the last year, so it was a real surprise to see a game titled The Suika Game pop up on Sony’s PlayStation store. While it would make sense for Suika developer Aladdin X to expand its title to other platforms, at least with regards to this latest listing, the company is not involved.

In a statement given to Eurogamer on the matter, Aladdin X stated, “We are aware that [The Suika Game] appeared on the Playstation Store, but we have no affiliation with [The] Suika Game. So, the game has nothing to do with our Suika Game!” That definitely puts this new Suika in gray territory.

The story goes a bit deeper with the PlayStation version having its publisher listed as “Gogame Console Publisher Ltd.” As Eurogamer has discovered, the website for Gogame not only features copied code from PlayStation team Guerilla Games but the publisher is potentially linked with developer Midnight Works. As dug up by Nintendo Life, Midnight Works was responsible for that bizarre The Last of Us knock-off, The Last Hope – Dead Zone Survival – that surfaced on the eShop earlier this year.

Whatever the case may be, this newest version of Suika Game is not an official port to Sony’s platform. If you were hoping to introduce your PlayStation-owning friends to this charming Nintendo exclusive, make sure they don’t buy this imitation.
