Announced way back in 2021, the HD-2D remake of Dragon Quest III has been quietly coming along at Square Enix. With only one scant update back in September of this year where series creator Yuji Horii noted that development was coming along “swimmingly,” there hasn’t been much news on the Dragon Quest III remake front until today.
https://t.co/wA9JeEvSsm

In a tweet commemorating the release of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, Yuji Horii offered a quick update on Dragon Quest III, noting that he was up until almost 10 p.m. playtesting the game (wow, what a night owl). While it’s not a major update by any means, it does confirm that the game is in the playtesting portion of development, which means it’s inching ever closer to release.
