Though the free updates have ended, Monster Hunter Rise and its Sunbreak expansion are still moving units. No doubt bolstered by going multi-platform, Rise has now sold 13 million copies since its Nintendo Switch launch.
A year since its launch, Sunbreak has hit 6 million copies on top of that.

These numbers further solidify Rise as the second best-selling title in the Monster Hunter series. Its predecessor Monster Hunter World remains the apex with 18.8 million sold as of March 2023. That game’s own massive expansion, Iceborne, sits at 10.2 million.
