Matthew Mercer is a pretty accomplished guy, having voiced a litany of iconic characters and also playing Ganondorf in the just-released The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. He’s also the dungeon master in Critical Role, an extremely popular Dungeons & Dragons podcast and show. And in a happy marriage between chocolate and peanut butter, Critical Role hosted a one-shot based on Tears of the Kingdom last night in a special broadcast.
Mercer was joined by Liam O’Brien, Marisha Ray, Robbie Daymond, Emily Axford and Omar Najam in an over five hour spectacle. If you’d like to watch the VOD, you can do so at their Twitch channel, though you’ll have to subscribe to them for $5 a month if you want to watch it. It’s a really unique cross-promotion, and we hope it’s the first sign of more to come in Nintendo interacting with the tabletop world.
