Shield surfing was one of the goofier, quainter aspects of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and watching Link just vibe his way down mountains never gets old. The mechanic returns intact in Tears of the Kingdom, but one player (5en on YouTube) has used the Fuse mechanic in one single stroke of genius to completely change how you navigate the game: strap a mine cart to your shield.

Doing so turns the shield surfing experience – previously a novel way to descend slopes – into a full blown method of transportation, as you now essentially skate your way through Hyrule. You can even grind on rails with it! Tony Hawk’s got nothin on our boy in green. This is one of a million little tricks discovered in the game, but it gets huge points for how simple it is to use, and how early you can utilize it.
