Today’s 10 minutes gameplay presentation for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom had more than just a gameplay tour of what awaits us when Tears of the Kingdom launches in May. At the end of the presentation, Nintendo announced that the leaked images of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom-themed Nintendo Switch OLED that popped up back in December are accurate. But wait, there’s more! Nintendo will also release a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and carrying case with similar patterns and artwork.

Nintendo Switch carrying case – The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition
Price: $24.99
Release date: May 12th, 2023
Online listings: My Nintendo Store (available the day of), Best Buy, and more!
Information: To take your Nintendo Switch on the go in style, an official The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch carrying case will be made available during the game’s launch. Granted, we’ll probably see other themed cases from other gaming accessory companies, but this one from Nintendo keeps with the theme that the OLED and Pro Controller sport. The Hylian Crest and the ouroboros-esque symbol are here, as well as the symbol for the Ultrahand ability (one of the new abilities that’ll be available in Tears of the Kingdom). Two screen protectors are also included – one for the Nintendo Switch OLED model and one for the standard Nintendo Switch model. Right now it appears that the foam insert to stabilize a Nintendo Switch Lite isn’t included, so this might not be the best carrying case for that system!
Given the success and popularity of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and how fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Tears of the Kingdom, chances are the themed Nintendo Switch OLED and Pro Controller will be in demand. So much so that they’ll sell out on release day (or even prior to when pre-orders officially launch). The carrying case, on the other hand, may be easier to come by when The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches on Friday, May 12th, 2023.
