It’s been a busy month for Gameloft and their Early Access launch of Disney Dreamlight Valley. With over one million players, plenty of Disney fans have been discovering the magic hidden in Dreamlight Valley.

Of course, with all that magic, there are bound to be a few bugs. DDV already saw an update earlier this month, and future fall updates have been confirmed thanks to a gaming showcase panel at Disney’s official D23 Expo 2022. Still, Gameloft wants to keep players in the loop and made an announcement this week on DDV’s official social media channels (Twitter, Discord, etc.). In it, the next big update is targeted to be released in 3 weeks and will fix a number of issues (including a number of Quest glitches) and will be adding Scar (from The Lion King) to the game. Here are the full details:

  • Patch Timing
    • The next bug fixes will be released as part of the first content update featuring Scar, this fall. While we can’t share exact timing yet, we are targeting a release in around 3 weeks.
      • Please note, this date is separate from the current Star Path end date.
  • Priority Issues
    • Our team is hard at work on fixes for some high priority issues. Expect updates on the following in the coming weeks as we get closer to locking fixes:
      • Preventing progress loss
      • Missing Founder’s Pack rewards
      • Console crashes
  • Incoming fixes
    • We’ve also got a TON of fixes coming (over 40!), including:
      • PS4 optimizations
      • Lightning VFX
      • Quest: Unable to collect lightbulb
      • Quest: Items stuck in store’s counter
      • Switch audio distortion
      • Rain doesn’t water crops
      • Much more!

We know it can be frustrating to run into bugs or issues, so we appreciate you bearing with us. There are a ton of fixes coming and many are thanks to your helpful issue reports! That said, we want to leave this on an exciting note; on top of introducing Scar and continuing the main story, this update will also bring… Improved Photo Mode and new avatar poses

And of course, stay tuned for more surprises!

Keep in mind that when these updates are released, be sure to install the update for each version before playing if you’re using the game’s cloud save feature and playing on multiple platforms.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is currently available to purchase in its Early Access phase for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One S and X, and PC with future plans for a Mac release. Its free-to-play launch is planned for 2023.
