This Labor Day, Nintendo is at PAX West 2022 and they’re taking over the PAX Arena! Starting at approximately 1 p.m. PT | 4 p.m. ET, they’ll be hosting a race to the finish line with the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship Cup 2022. Afterwards, at approximately 2 p.m. PT | 5 p.m. ET, it’ll be time for the first-ever Splatoon 3 Enter the Splatlands Invitational 2022.
Luckily, Nintendo is live streaming the events on Twitch and YouTube. You can check out the YouTube feed below once it’s live.
Tune-in to watch the top players face off in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship Cup 2022 invitational. Top Splatoon 2 teams will participate in the first Splatoon 3 invitational in North America as they battle it out in the Splatoon 3 Enter the Splatlands Invitational 2022 tournament.
According to Nintendo, here’s what to expect from these invitationals:
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship Cup 2022: 12 players will play 8 races and the player with the highest amount of accumulated points from the 8 races will be determined the Grand Prize winner.
Splatoon 3 Enter the Splatlands Invitational 2022: There will be four teams participating in the Tournament. We will start off with the Mini Bracket Round where teams will play 2 matches each to determine seeding for the tournament.
- Team 1 vs. Team 2
- Team 3 vs. Team 4
- Match 1 Loser vs. Match 2 Loser
- Match 1 Winner vs. Match 2 Winner
- Mode: Turf War
- Format: Best-of-1
- Based on win-loss ratio, teams will be seeded #1-#4
All teams will move on to the Semi-Final Matchup Round and based on seeding, teams will compete in the following order.
- Seed #1 vs. Seed #4
- Seed #2 vs. Seed #3
- Mode: Ranked Modes
- Format: Best-of-5
The winners of match 1 and match 2 will face off in the Finals Round to determine the winner of the championship.

- Format: Best-of-7
Who will the top prize, including some pretty sweet trophies (especially for the Splatoon 3 Invitational)? You gotta watch it all unfold on Monday, September 5th, 2022 at approximately 1 p.m. PT | 4 p.m. ET.
