It might be the end of July, but companies are already starting to announce their Halloween 2022 plans. This morning, The Pokémon Company issued a press release that promises there are some spooky Pokémon-themed celebrations taking place later this year. After all, when you have a franchise that features Ghost-type Pokémon, you gotta go all out for this holiday of spirits, tricks, and treats.

Trainers can expect to see “themed activations and merchandise across the franchise”, but also something a bit new. Pokémon fans that have crafted your own trick-or-treating Pokémon Trading Card Game packs (or dumped a bunch of dollar bills at the Dollar Store for the $1 3-card packs if you could find them) to hand out on Halloween, TPC has something just for you. Oh, and Pokémon TCG collectors because we’re talking about cards after all.

For a candy alternative to hand out this Halloween, Pokémon Trading Card Game: Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle will be available at participating grocery stores and mass retailers beginning Thursday, September 1st, 2022. The bundle includes 40 mini booster packs (3 cards per pack) that feature spooky Pokémon, like “Zubat, Gengar, Pumpkaboo, Mimikyu and Polteageist.” The cards are stamped too to show that they’re part of this special series. The stamp in question sounds pretty cute too, as it’s a Pikachu jack-o’-lantern.

There are no pictures of the cards yet, but TPC did show how this Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle will be packaged and the design of the card packs:

We’ll see more Halloween-themed Pokémon goods and celebrations in September too. So much so that TPC is launching a dedicated and interactive website for all things Pokémon and Halloween. According to TPC it “will serve as the hub for seasonal entertainment and merchandise across the Pokémon brand as they are revealed in the coming months. This website will also include enchanting activities for families to incorporate Pokémon in their Halloween festivities.”

Plus, TPC did confirm that Pokémon Centers in the US, Canada, and the UK will be getting a Halloween collection that’ll include “home décor, plush, collectibles and more.” 2021’s collection at Pokémon Center was pretty cute!

Based on last year’s event and releases, chances are we’ll see the Halloween Festival return in Pokémon UNITE, a Halloween-themed event and Seasonal Scout in Pokémon Masters EX, a candy-filled and costumed Pokémon event in Pokémon GO, and more!
