It isn’t the Season of Mischief in Pokémon GO without a big Halloween event! Niantic is making this year’s spooky gathering into a big two-part event and it starts soon! Beginning on Friday, October 15th at 10 a.m. (your local time), you’ll find some new Costumed Pokémon, new chapters in the Season of Mischief Special Research, a new in-game mechanic and more!

According to the official Pokémon GO blog, here’s what this year’s Halloween event has in store for all of us Trainers:

 

 

Pokémon Mischief event (Overall)

When: Friday, October 15th, 2021 at 10 a.m. – Sunday, October 31st, 2021 at 8 p.m. your local time.

Note: Pokémon with an asterisk next to their name signifies that if you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one.

  • The Season of Mischief storyline continues! New parts of this Special Research will unlock during the event.
  • The Halloween Cup is on in GO Battle League!
    • Pokémon must be at or below 1,500 CP to enter.
    • Only Poison-, Bug-, Ghost-, Dark-, and Fairy-type Pokémon are permitted.
  • What Lies beneath the Mask? – a new Special Research story – will be available.
    • Ghost-type Pokémon are appearing more often than usual, and Professor Willow has tasked you with learning more about them. Notably, Yamask has started appearing in the wild, prompting his interest in learning more about Ghost-type Pokémon related to masks. What can we learn about these Pokémon—and what can we learn about ourselves in the process?
  • New Timed Research tasks, including one associated with the Halloween Cup in GO Battle League.
  • Event bonuses: 2x Transfer Candy, 2x Hatch Candy, 2x Catch Candy, and Guaranteed Candy XL when walking with your buddy.
  • Lavender Town Music remix will be playing nightly during the event.
  • New Costumed Pokémon: Halloween Mischief Pikachu*, Halloween Mischief Piplup*, and Halloween Mischief Driblim*.
  • New Avatar Items (will be available after the event too): Pikachu Pumpkin Head, Pumpkaboo Top, Pumpkaboo Pants, Hoopa Headband, and Halloween Face Sticker.
  • New Stickers via PokéStops, Gifts, and in-game shop.
  • Spooky in-game bundles:
    • Creepy Crate (480 PokéCoins): 50 Poké Balls, one Remote Raid Pass, two Super Incubators, four Incense
    • Boo Bundle (1,480 PokéCoins): 16 Premium Raid Passes, eight Super Incubators, four Incense, four Star Pieces
    • Pumpkin Pack (1,480 PokéCoins): 18 Super Incubators, two Incubators, four Incense, four Star Pieces

 

 

Part 1: Creepy Companions

When: Friday, October 15th, 2021 at 10 a.m. – Friday, October 22nd, 2021 at 10 a.m. your local time.

Note: Pokémon with an asterisk next to their name signifies that if you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one.

  • Galarian Slowpoke will now be able to evolve into Galarian Slowking! To evolve it, set a Galarian Slowpoke as your buddy, and catch 30 Psychic-type Pokémon.
  • Wild Encounters! The following Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in the wild: Halloween Mischief Pikachu*, Zubat*, Drowzee*, Gastly*, Spinarak*, Misdreavus*, Shuppet*, Halloween Mischief Piplup*, Stunky, Woobat*, and Gothita.
    • If you’re lucky, you might encounter Yamask*!
    • Also, Shiny Spinarak debuts!
  • The following Pokémon will be available in raids:
    • 1-Star Raids: Galarian Slowpoke, Murkrow*, Scraggy, Yamask*, and Espurr*.
    • 3-Star Raids: Alolan Raichu*, Sableye*, Banette, and Halloween Mischief Drifblim*.
    • 5-Star Raids: Altered Forme Giratina*.
    • Mega Raids: Mega Gengar*.
  • 7km Eggs obtained during the event may contain the following Pokémon: Spinarak*, Misdreavus*, Shuppet*, Chingling, Litwick, Galarian Yamask, and Golett.
  • Event Field Research Task Encounters: Halloween Mischief Pikachu*, Zubat*, Drowzee*, Spinarak*, Halloween Mischief Piplup*, Woobat*, and Gothita.
    • If you’re lucky, you might encounter Halloween Mischief Drifblim* and Galarian Yamask.

 

 

Part 2: Ghoulish Pals

When: Friday, October 22nd, 2021 at 10 a.m. – Sunday, October 31st, 2021 at 8 p.m. your local time.

Note: Pokémon with an asterisk next to their name signifies that if you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one.

  • Phantump, Trevenant, Pumpkaboo, and Gourgeist debut!
  • New Size Mechanic – with the introduction of Pumpkaboo comes a new mechanic to Pokémon GO. Pumpkaboo that are larger will actually look larger in the game!
    • Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist will be available in the following sizes: Small Size, Average Size, Large Size, and Super Size.
  • A Collection Challenge will be active and it’ll task you to collect Pumpkaboo of various sizes.
  • Wild Encounters! The following Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in the wild: Halloween Mischief Pikachu*, Gastly*, Murkrow*, Misdreavus*, Shuppet*, Halloween Mischief Piplup*, Purrloin, Phantump, Small Size Pumpkaboo, and Average Size Pumpkaboo.
    • If you’re lucky, you might encounter Haunter, Yamask*, Litwick, Large Size Pumpkaboo, and Super Size Pumpkaboo.
  • The following Pokémon will be available in raids:
    • 1-Star Raids: Murkrow*, Yamask*, Galarian Yamask, Phatump, and Average Size Pumpkaboo.
    • 3-Star Raids: Alolan Marowak*, Banette, Halloween Mischief Drifblim* (will know the attack Sludge Bomb), and Lampent.
    • 5-Star Raids: Darkrai*.
    • Mega Raids: Mega Absol*.
  • Special Raid Weekend – in celebration of the Halloween weekend and the introduction of Mega Absol, you’ll find Mega Raids and 5-Star Raids appear more frequently from Saturday, October 30th, 2021 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, October 31st, 2021 at 8 p.m. your local time.
  • 7km Eggs obtained during the event may contain the following Pokémon: Spinarak*, Misdreavus*, Shuppet*, Litwick, Phantump, Galarian Yamask, and Golett.
  • Event Field Research Task Encounters: Halloween Mischief Pikachu*, Gastly*, Spinarak*, Shuppet*, Duskull*, and Halloween Mischief Piplup*.
    • If you’re lucky, you might encounter Yamask* and Galarian Yamask.
