As Splatoon 3’s release inches ever closer, we’re seeing more exciting details on the game reported directly from the Squid Research Lab. This time, we’re given a closer look at some returning, fan-favorite weapons.
First introduced in Splatoon 2, Dualies are a primary weapon type that allow users to Dodge Roll during use. As the name suggests, the user dual-wields two pistol-like weapons. The official Splatoon Twitter account has confirmed two returning Dualie weapons: Splat Dualies, which allow for two consecutive Dodge Rolls, and Dapple Dualies, a short-range option that allows for speedier dodging.
Squid Research Lab Ballistics here, back from vacation with a report on dualie-type weapons! These classic dual-wield inkers allow you to press B to perform a Dodge Roll while shooting. It’s a smart tactical move, and our intern assures me that it “makes you look like a boss.” pic.twitter.com/XFh3oKuerJ

Nintendo has previously confirmed that “all the basic weapons from previous games will be available in Splatoon 3,” so if Dualies aren’t your go-to, rest assured that your weapon of choice will be available.
Last week, we saw the reveal of a new stage in Splatoon 3 known as Mincemeat Metalworks, as well as a special edition Nintendo Switch OLED and Pro Controller themed around the upcoming game.
Splatoon 3 launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch on September 9th, 2022.
