Back in 2017, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was the subject of a fairly notable leak, spoiling the surprise but doubling the hype — that’s what happens when you call Peach a badass princess. Now history is repeating itself a bit, as it appears Ubisoft’s own storefront has leaked info and screenshots for that game’s sequel, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.

This includes the game’s potential release date, and considering Nintendo’s already known release calendar combined with tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, pretty much everything here tracks.
The listing has already been taken down by the look of things, but thanks to @KoopaKid82 on Twitter we also have screenshots and confirmation of/information on DLC for Sparks of Hope.

While it’s not surprising Nintendo and Ubisoft would have a post-launch plan for Sparks of Hope, this seems to confirm additional characters being added post-release as well as a new story. Whether this is via a secondary, standalone campaign (à la the first game’s Donkey Kong Adventure) or content more integrated with the base game isn’t clear at this time. Also curious is the prominence of Bowser in the screenshots, including an instance of him standing with his own weapon beside Rabbid Rosalina, seeming to imply he could be on Mario’s side this time and playable as well.
It shouldn’t be long before we get additional information and clarification on this info. October would be a great time for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, putting it right between Splatoon 3 in September and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in November.
