It’s hard to believe that just a matter of years ago Taiko no Tatsujin rarely saw releases in the west, as now Bandai Namco’s drumming series is making regular appearances on the Switch and beyond. The next game to feature Don-chan and co. is Rhythm Festival, which was previously announced during February’s Direct, and now it has a release date.

You’ll be able to jam on September 23rd, 2022, and we have a new trailer to prove it.

Gematsu has a full tracklist of the included songs, which include anime hits like Digimon’s Butter-fly and Sailor Moon’s Moonlight Densetsu, video game songs such as the Zelda theme and Persona 5’s Life Will Change, and even some surprising picks – Pirates of the Carribean’s He’s a Pirate, anyone?

That’s not all, though, as Rhythm Festival will also see the introduction of the Taiko Music Pass subscription service, which will offer over 500 tunes.

You can pick up Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival later this year on September 23rd.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
