This past Saturday was a big day for Lego fans! LEGO CON – the yearly event where bricks upon bricks of  Lego announcements, reveals, and more happen – had a few Nintendo-related announcements this year. Physical product-wise, we got to see who made the cut for the next round of Character Packs for the LEGO Super Mario series, and game-wise we got a new trailer and release date for Lego Brawls. Prepare for some minifigure fights on Friday, September 2nd, 2022.

This fisticuffs frenzy will have Lego fans battling it out with minifigures. Create your own character and customize it to your liking, selecting power-ups like “chickens to hot dog stand shooters to a flying rocket shaped like a fist.” Keep playing and you’ll unlock minifigures, power-ups, and emotes. Even better, online and local multiplayer will allow 8 players to enter the fight, whereas local co-op drops it to 4 players. There’s crossplay support too!

Previously, Lego Brawls was slated for a summer release. The official Lego Brawls Twitter account clarified that the push to September is due to the “[p]roduction process with platforms, manufacturing timelines, and global distribution.”

You can pre-order Lego Brawls for Nintendo Switch and other consoles at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart. For digital-only fans, it’ll be available later this week to pre-order on the Nintendo eShop. After that, it’s just a waiting game till Friday, September 2nd, 2022.
