Splatoon 3’s fall release means that we can have at least one more official Nintendo VS competition with Splatoon 2. For July 2022, Inklings, Octolings, and Squidkids can partake in the Splatoon 2 Inkopolis Showdown 2022. Teams of four (plus an alternate) can battle it out in Turf Mode matches, and if score high enough, can make it into the next day of Ranked Battle mode matches.

This is a month-long event, with battles happening every weekend. Registration for all four weekends is open on Battlefy, yet there are deadlines for each session. For those looking to participate, keep the following dates in mind:

For each weekend, “Day 1” of matches will be dedicated to Turf War (the Ladder Round). Score high enough, and you and your team will make it to the Bracket Round. Here, you’ll battle it out with other teams in Ranked Battle modes on “Day 2” and if you “Woomy!” your way to victory, you’ll make it into the Top 4 and Final Rounds. Splatoon fans can watch the action for themselves when each weekend’s Top 4 and Final Rounds are streamed at 2 p.m. PT | 5 p.m. ET (only July 2nd, 9th, 23rd, and 30th).

The top teams will walk away with some pretty inktastic prizes too. The team that scores the highest during the entire event (all four weekends) will get the coveted Grand Prize that includes the following items for each team member: a Splatoon-themed gaming chair (ARV $359), Splatoon 2 Inkopolis Showdown 2022 Trophy (ARV $150), 10,000 My Nintendo Gold Points (ARV $100), a “Gaming Headset” (ARV $99), Splatoon 2 Jacket (ARV $75), a “Backpack” (ARV $50), and Nintendo Switch Carrying Case (ARV $20). There will also be prize packs for teams that place in first and second too.

Are you interested in joining? Make sure you and your team of four (plus the optional alternate) read up on the official rules before joining! We wouldn’t want to get disqualified in the Ladder Round after having an amazing performance thanks to wearing a Splatfest Tee during a matchup.
