With all due respect to F-Zero and Kid Icarus fans, the lack of Rhythm Heaven on the Switch at this point is just plain criminal. The charmingly realized and musically fueled member of the Nintendo library would be perfectly at home on the handheld hybrid, but it looks like it’s up to others to fill that void.

Case in point, Melatonin. Previously shared by Wholesome Games and coming to us from Half Asleep Games, Melatonin takes a dive into dreams and self-reflective story. This latest trailer shares some of the ethereal sounds you’ll be boppin’ along to as you take on its 20+ minigames, as well as an editor that’ll let you script your own levels. The parallels to Rhythm Heaven are palpable in the best of ways, while carrying its own identity that’s complementary to that spirit.

Maybe best of all is that we won’t have to wait too long to hum along — Melatonin will be coming to Nintendo Switch and PC on September 16th.
