The original Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation was a revolutionary game, but it was essentially the only game of its kind, with imitators rare and its sequels being even more ambitious with content and features.

If you’ve been wanting to go back to that classic style of stealth action, however, you’re in luck as the indie studio Merlino Games have announced Undetected. With retro visuals, a top-down perspective, and very familiar gameplay, it’s sure to bring back memories. One key difference, however, is that the game is entirely non-lethal, with rubber bullets and all manner of traps.

Undetected launches for Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam in Q4 2022.
