As Kirby’s 35th anniversary came and went last month I couldn’t help but feel a longing to replay the first Kirby game I experienced as a child, but alas, I did not have access to an N64 at the time. To add to this misfortune, Mario Golf took the Nintendo Switch Online slot I was sure that Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards would land in. It turns out my expectations were a month to early though, as Kirby 64 is coming to a Nintendo Switch near you later this month!
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards sees Kirby and a few pals traveling to a variety of planets and mixing his copy abilities with one another in order to up their fire power to retrieve the titular Crystal Shards. The game also has a variety of multiplayer mini-games that are an absolute blast, and Nintendo Switch Online will be enhancing those mini-games with online multiplayer, so that everyone can get in on the fun.
You won’t need to wait long to play this classic N64 play former either, as it drops on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack on Friday, May 20th, 2022.
