While the new September release date for 3 and 2’s Octo Expansion being added to the NSO Expansion Pass were clearly today’s biggest pieces of news for the Splatoon series, this new discovery could be just as important to fans.

Nintendo Switch Online’s Save Data Cloud feature isn’t the most eyecatching feature but it can save the day if disaster ever strikes. That said, Splatoon 2 never supported the feature, meaning your progress and gear could be lost if your Switch was ever misplaced, stolen, or broken.

Thankfully Splatoon 3 seems to be remedying that with the game’s official Nintendo page confirming Save Data Cloud support.

You’ll be able to ink your way through Splatoon 3 with no worries about losing progress starting September 9th.
