Initially spotted via an online listing, Lego and Sega have confirmed that a set inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog is coming soon! Very soon, in fact, as a full press release has confirmed the Lego Ideas Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone Set will be available January 1st.

The build, based on the first Sonic game’s iconic first stage, includes the following specs and features:

- Depth: 6cm / 2.5”
- 1125 pieces
The set features:
- 5 minifigures, including a new version of Sonic and also Crab, Motobug, Dr. Eggman, and Phantom Ruby
- 10 ring boxes
- Modular build, which can be linked to other architecture sets
Interactive elements and easter eggs, such as:
- A Technic lever on the spring module to launch Sonic and his friends into the air
- Sit Dr Eggman inside the Egg Robot
- Just like in the game – get a gem reward as you build the set
- Super speed and shield TV screens also included

The most important detail might be when and where you can pick one of these up for yourself. This Sonic Lego set will be available exclusively at Lego retail stores and their own online shop. Its dedicated page doesn’t appear to be up yet, though the set will be speeding its way there for a January 1st, 2022 release.
