Today’s Indie World Showcase started things off with a game I’ve been anticipating since before it was even announced. Sabotage’s followup to The Messenger, one of my favorite games of the last few years, was not another action platformer, but instead a classically inspired RPG by the name of Sea of Stars. Now, today, we have a full-on trailer for the game, and it’s looking absolutely stellar.

Look forward to more Sea of Stars, its turn-based combat, story focus, visual splendor, and music courtesy of Yasunori Mitsuda — who you might know from a little game called Chrono Trigger — in the coming year. It’s set to arrive on Nintendo Switch and more Holiday 2022.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
