At The Game Awards 2021, Sonic got not just a movie trailer, but a new game trailer for a previously teased title! Now officially christened Sonic Frontiers, the title shows off a design that will grant the hedgehog “open-zone freedom” per a provided press release.
Granted, no footage of Sonic running through those areas was shown, but it’s still a gorgeous introduction to the Starfall Islands. It’s safe to say this doesn’t appear to be like any Sonic title that came before, 3D or otherwise.
Sonic Frontiers will come to Nintendo Switch and more Holiday 2022.
