Here it is! Niantic let us know when December’s Community Day would be happening in Pokémon GO last month. Today, before we take part in November’s Community Day this weekend, Niantic has announced what and who will be featured in December’s jam-packed event. Get ready for two days worth of catching, evolving, and walking, while also taking part in some bonuses that go beyond Saturday, December 18th, and Sunday, December 19th.

From the official Pokémon GO blog, here’s everything you need to know about Pokémon GO’s December 2021 Community Day:

 

 

December Community Day

When: Saturday, December 18th, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. your local time and Sunday, December 19th, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. your local time.

Note: If you’re lucky, you may encounter Shiny versions of any of the Community Day Pokémon listed below.

 

Wild Encounters

The following Pokémon featured during Community Day events in 2021 will be appearing more frequently in the wild. All Pokémon below will also be attracted to incense and lures regardless of what day it is.

  • Appearing more frequently on Saturday, December 18th: Machop, Roselia, Swablu, Gible, Snivy, and Fletching.
  • Appearing more frequently on Sunday, December 19th: Eevee, Duskull, Shinx, Tepig, and Oshawott.
    • Note: Eevee caught during the event will know Last Resort

Eggs

The following Pokémon will be hatching from 2 km Eggs: Charmander, Weedle, Abra, Gastly, Rhyhorn, Magikarp, Porygon, Elekid, Magby, Seedot, Piplup, and Budew.

 

Raids

The following Pokémon featured in 2020 Community Days will be appearing in raids: Charmander, Weedle, Abra, Gastly, Rhyhorn, Electabuzz, Magmar, Magikarp, Porygon, Seedot, and Piplup.

 

Field Research Tasks

When: Friday, December 17th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, December 20th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. PT (GMT −8).

Complete certain Field Research tasks to earn Mega Energy for the following Pokémon: Charizard, Beedrill, Gengar, Gyarados, and Altaria.

 

Timed Research

When: From Saturday, December 18th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. to Monday, December 20th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. your local time.

Timed Research will be available with tasks focused on all of the Pokémon that have been featured in Community Day events over the past two years!

Note: Niantic’s post doesn’t list which Pokémon will be a part of Timed Research, so for convenience, we’ve listed Pokémon that were part of Community Day in 2020 and 2021.

  • Community Days 2020: Piplup, Rhyhorn, Abra, Seedot, Weedle, Gastly, Magikarp, Porygon, Charmander, Electabuzz, and Magmar.
  • Community Days 2021: Machop, Roselia, Fletchling, Snivy, Swablu, Gible, Tepig, Eevee, Oshawott, Duskull, and Shinx.

 

Event Bonuses

  • Incense activated during the event will last for three hours
  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
  • 1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event
  • 2× Catch XP
  • 2× Catch Stardust

 

Special Bonuses

When: From Friday, December 17th, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. to Sunday, December 19th, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. your local time.

To celebrate the last Community Day event of the year, two additional bonuses will be available all weekend.

  • 25% reduced stardust cost for trades
  • 1 extra special trade per day

 

Exclusive Moves

The following exclusive moves will be available when evolving to the following Pokémon from Friday, December 17th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, December 20th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. PT (GMT −8).

  • Charizard – Evolve Charmeleon into a Charizard that knows the Fast Attack Dragon Breath.
  • Beedrill – Evolve Kakuna into a Beedrill that knows the Charged Attack Drill Run.
  • Alakazam – Evolve Kadabra into an Alakazam that knows the Fast Attack Counter.
  • Machamp – Evolve Machoke into a Machamp that knows the Charged Attack Payback.
  • Gengar – Evolve Haunter into a Gengar that knows the Charged Attack Shadow Punch.
  • Gyarados – Evolve Magikarp into a Gyarados that knows the Charged Attack Aqua Tail.
  • Vaporeon – Evolve Eevee into a Vaporeon that knows the Charged Attack Scald.
  • Jolteon – Evolve Eevee into a Jolteon that knows the Charged Attack Zap Cannon.

  • 30 Ultra Balls will be available in the shop at no cost. Be sure to pick them up during this time!

Pokémon Storage and Item Bag Cap Increase

To help you prepare for the biggest Community Day event of the year, the maximum amount that the Pokémon storage and Item Bag can be expanded to will be increased! Be sure to purchase Item Bag and Pokémon Storage expansions from the shop so you can stock up on Poké Balls and store all the Pokémon you’ll catch during December Community Day!

  • Pokémon Storage Expansion Cap: 5,000 -> 5,500
  • Item Bag Expansion Cap: 4,000 -> 4,500

Note: This change will go into effect on Thursday, December 16th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. PT (GMT -8).
