Samus Aran has been having a great month, with Metroid Dread receiving wide acclaim and heralding the launch of the OLED Switch. This bounty hunter has a new target in her sights, and it’s far more treacherous than any Space Pirate encounter.

Yes, she’s descending into the warzone that is Tetris 99.

With the multiplayer puzzler’s next Maximus Cup, Metroid Dread is getting the free theme treatment. By playing enough you can add this theme, complete with Metroid music and iconography, to your collection. I especially like the use of…space language? For its countdown and other text. The pixel Metroids are a nice touch too, or at least nicer than that E.M.M.I. in the background.

The 26th Maximus Cup and its Metroid Dread theme will arrive starting Friday, October 29th. You’ll have the whole weekend to hit 100 points, with the event concluding at 11:59 p.m. PT on Monday, November 1st.
