Atelier Ryza 2 was a first for the long-running JRPG series, with it being the first time a direct sequel has been released starring the same main character. Now it seems like Koei Tecmo is taking the same approach retroactively with a sequel being announced for 2015’s Atelier Sophie.

Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream will bring back Sophie and her buddy Plachta, although they’re soon split apart as the former is transported into the enigmatic world of Erde Wiege.

Battles have been changed quite a bit, too. Now instead of three party members you’ll be rolling into combat with six, and there’ll be no load-times when encountering enemies.

You’ll be able to pick up Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream on February 25th, 2022. NIS America will also be releasing a Limited Edition of the game.
