We’re mere weeks from the long-awaited next Metroid title, yet Nintendo saw fit to drop another trailer for Samus’ next mission. The recurring bits of information and footage that have come paint an apprehensive adventure for the bounty hunter, and that trend continues with the Sounds of Dread.
Whether threats be extraterrestrial or robotic, Samus will at least be well kitted out for the job. New and returning power-ups (including the previously glimpsed upgrades that bring her new suit closer to the classic Varia look) made appearances, as does the return of Kraid.
The game’s setting, Planet ZDR, also got some focus in another brief, voice-over trailer. This includes the planet’s potential ties to the Chozo, and the variety of biomes and biology Samus will encounter there. You can learn about those in the latest Dread Report, and experience them yourself when Metroid Dread releases on October 8th.
