As eager as you may be to reach for that boomstick and get groovy with some Deadite destruction, it’s going to be a little bit longer before we can hail to the king’s return once again.

Originally scheduled for a 2021 release, Evil Dead: The Game’s official Twitter account has announced that the title has been pushed back to February 2022 “to give the team some extra time for polish and to ensure this is the ultimate Evil Dead experience.”

In a followup tweet, the team thanks fans for their “understanding and support” and promises “new character updates, [information on] pre-order availability, and the next gameplay video featuring Bruce Campbell.”

Back in June, a new trailer for Evil Dead: The Game showed off various characters pulled from across the franchise as well as Bruce Campbell himself providing narration.
