Woomy! Nintendo of America and its Nintendo VS branch are dipping their fresh kicks into the ink again this year. A new Splatoon 2 tournament series – dubbed the Splatoon 2 Splatter Ladder 2021 – has been announced and registration is open!

 

 

For four Saturdays in July, teams of four Squid Kids/Octo Kids can ink it out for supreme victory. Each day is dedicated to a different mode too:

 

  • Rainmaker: Saturday, July 10th, 2021 from 10 a.m. t0 2 p.m. PT
  • Splat Zones: Saturday, July 17th, 2021 from 10 a.m. t0 2 p.m. PT
  • Tower Control: Saturday, July 24th, 2021 from 10 a.m. t0 2 p.m. PT
  • Turf War: Saturday, July 31st, 2021 from 10 a.m. t0 2 p.m. PT

 

As for what prizes will be handed out, they are indeed “fresh” according to Nintendo’s tweet. Listed on the Battlefy site, “16 Grand Prize winners will receive gaming chair, trophy, jacket, gaming headset, 10,000 My Nintendo Gold Points, backpack, pin set and lanyard (ARV $1,163.98 US each). 16 First Prize winners will receive 7,500 My Nintendo Gold Points, backpack, pin set and lanyard (ARV $140 US each). 32 Second Prize winners will receive 5,000 My Nintendo Gold Points, backpack, pin set and lanyard (ARV $115 US each).”

To enter, the tournament is open to “legal residents of the US (including D.C.) who are age 13+, and have access to a Nintendo Switch system, Splatoon 2 game, reliable high-speed internet connection, and a Nintendo Switch Online membership.” Registration is open at Battlefy and closes at the start of each tournament (i.e.: Rainmaker registration concludes at 10 a.m. PT on Saturday, July 10th).
