It’s been a long road for Eldest Souls, first touched on by us back in early 2020. But alas, the wait is nearly over and the fall of the old gods is upon us. Fallen Flag Studios announced, as part of the Future Games Show, that Eldest Souls will finally release on July 29th.

The new story trailer paints a grim backstory for the game, and rightfully so. Taking inspiration from Dark Souls but with a gorgeous pixel aesthetic for its intricately designed foes, it’ll be worth taking up the obsidian sword when this one arrives on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, PC, and of course — Nintendo Switch.
