There was a lot to get excited over in the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope reveal trailer, be it the unholy union of Rabbid and Luma that is a Spark or the appearance (and attitude) of Rabbid Rosalina. Those two weren’t the only Super Mario Galaxy nods there, though, as when RR appeared she was accompanied by some familiar notes.

Yes, the Comet Observatory theme is back and sounding lovely, and bringing it to life in Sparks of Hope is the returning maestro of the previous game – Grant Kirkhope.
 


 
Kirkhope has confirmed he’s back to score the sequel, bringing his wealth of experience and sense of humor along for the intergalactic ride. You can hear more of his work for the game in that cinematic trailer, though it’s the idea that he might be taking on a few more familiar Mario tunes that’s got me extra excited.
