Ōkami earned its reputation as a masterpiece of a game in many ways. The gameplay and story both deliver, but if there’s something about Clover and Capcom’s Nippon that sticks, it has to be its beauty. A living world on canvas explored in part with your Celestial Brush, it’s only fitting that the game’s birthday be celebrated with some new art.

For Ōkami’s 15th anniversary, Capcom has shared this ukiyo-e piece featuring Amaterasu and Issun as well as a sakura-laden landscape. With the sun shining full and bright, it’s a token of appreciation to all the fans who’ve kept this journey in their minds and hearts.

You can experience Ōkami (in HD and with touch controls, no less) for yourself on Switch now. It’s one of our all-time favorites, and well worth the decade and a half of praise.
