Super Nintendo World, the theme park dream that brings the Mushroom Kingdom to life, is now officially open! After years of planning, construction, delays, and one very Miyamoto-filled Nintendo Direct, the Super Mario inspired expansion to Universal Studios Japan held its grand opening festivities and courted crowds to its multiple attractions and ambiance.

Shigeru Miyamoto himself was in attendance, looking on in joy as his creations and all that hard work welcomed guests. Though there are various restrictions in place due to both COVID-19 concerns and to regulate capacity for the area, it still managed to look like quite the party.

Thanks to IGN Japan, we’ve also got a video of a brief dance number and the grand opening declaration as well. “We are Mario” indeed!

Nintendo also opened a dedicated Super Nintendo World web page, which serves as an overview for the theme park section and all it offers visitors. While it’s all in Japanese, there are plenty of pictures to gaze in wonder upon.
