It’s been over 14 years since Wii Sports graced living rooms worldwide and kickstarted the phenomenon that was the Nintendo Wii, and yet it seems discoveries are still being made within the game.
YouTube user Plyd823 has found a new glitch in Wii Sports Golf that allows the player to take shots from places they should not be able to. “Before, being able to stand on water was a mod-only thing,” he says, “but now it can be done relatively easily on any unmodified version of the game.”
Performing the glitch involves disconnecting and reconnecting the Wii Remote during a swing. “If you do a disconnected shot into water, then reconnect, then input a double hit after the ball goes into the water, the game glitches out and thinks you are on the fairway and places you into the water (or whatever surface you are currently above.” The video shows how you can stand out of bounds or on the side of cliffs.
Finally, Plyd823 said he will continue to test and research the newfound discovery and keep viewers informed on any new updates regarding the glitch.
