Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury won’t release until this Friday, but that hasn’t stopped the tech savants over at Digital Foundry from going under the hood of Mario’s latest adventure.

In this new video, the team gets into the nitty-gritty of the game’s upgraded performance while playing in both handheld and docked modes, as well as compare the base game to its Wii U counterpart. The good news is that it keeps a steady 60 fps no matter which mode you play in, but there are some interesting graphical differences.

Bowser’s Fury is also covered in the video’s second half, but if you’d rather go in blind with Mario and Bowser Jr. in this new adventure, it may be best to wait and watch that part after the game’s release.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury will release this Friday, February 12th, and both the game and its new amiibo are still available to pre-order!
