Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin proved to be a surprise hit, selling 500,000 copies in its first few weeks. That success has given the developers thoughts about a sequel, according to an interview with Famitsu.

The interview with Koichi and Naru, two key members of the game’s developer, Edelweiss, had them address concerns about the game’s farming mechanics, as well as answer questions about DLC and a sequel. Their responses, as translated by Siliconera, state that they have “no plans for DLC”, but they want to do a sequel “if there is an opportunity”. In regards to a hypothetical sequel, they say they “do not have a concrete plan for the sequel”, but they “want to live up to expectations when the time comes.”

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is available now on the Nintendo eShop for $39.99 as well as its Divine Edition collector’s set for $59.99 at Amazon.
