Meow we’re talking! The year is just starting but Nintendo still has a couple of games on the way to be excited for. Leading them off is the latest Wii U revival – Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about this expanded port, particularly its subtitle. We won’t have to wait much longer though, both with its release date approaching and its official website opening (“full site coming soon”).

While it too doesn’t offer much insight, there is one bit of info tucked away. Anyone wondering what amiibo, specifically the new Cat Mario and Cat Peach amiibo, would do now have their answer – “Use the adorable new Cat Mario and Cat Peach amiibo™ figures to unlock power-ups.”

Not the most exciting feature, and no word on if other figures will be usable (such as Luigi, Toad, and Rosalina), but free Super Bells can’t hurt.

Look forward to feline fun with Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury and the new amiibo when they arrive on February 12th.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
