For every Trainer who fondly remembers spending countless hours wandering the Johto region in search of discovering the diving pocket monster Lugia, animation artist illbedarnd (also known as Darn) has a new video you will surely want to check out. In the YouTuber’s latest project released on September 14th, he has gorgeously reanimated the iconic short introduction to Pokémon Silver for the Game Boy Color. Have a look at his newest work directly below!

According to illbedarnd, the project took somewhere between 300 and 400 hours to fully complete by himself. The artist originally set out to create a living and breathing interpretation of generation two’s introduction to the best possible extent he could provide all while trying to create something that felt more than “just an animation” as he put it.
