In a not-too-surprising move, the Games Done Quick team has decided to make their next event, Awesome Games Done Quick 2021, another online-only event due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. As with the previous events this year, Corona Relief Done Quick and Summer Games Done Quick, participating players will be broadcasting from home, rather than attending the traditional meet-ups at DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Minnesota.

The official Games Done Quick website says, “Similar to SGDQ 2020, we will broadcast the event from our studio, with runners participating from the safety of their homes. The broadcast dates will remain the same, with AGDQ 2021 showcasing some of the best speedrunners in the world from January 3rd-10th, 2021.”

Last month’s event raked in over $2.3 million for charity, and we’re already looking forward to seeing more incredible speedruns and funds raised for great causes in January 2021.
