For longtime fans of the Orre region, seeing James Turner’s recent artwork of Wes and Michael from Pokémon Colosseum (2003) and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness was a real treat. Yes, it’s caused the fanbase to express their hopes for a remaster, yet it also brought a bunch of fan questions that Turner answered on Twitter

There was something missing though. Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness is a direct sequel to Pokémon Colosseum, taking place in the same region about five years where Colosseum’s storyline ended. This calls for a group photo of the main characters!

Turner took both illustrations and combined them together, dubbing the piece “Heroes of Orre.” It’s a small change, but to see Michael and Wes stand side-by-side along with their Pokémon and side-kicks… it warms my Pokémon nerd heart for two games that took on a darker, narrative tone and brought the idea of Shadow Pokémon into the spotlight.

Hopefully, this isn’t the last we’ll ever see of the Orre region, but this “official-but-not-official” illustration gives me hope that we’ll venture back there again someday and snag whatever Shadow Pokémon we come across.
