Pokémon Sword and Shield Art Director James Turner is sure feeling nostalgic lately. After sharing a fantastic illustration yesterday based on the first Pokémon title he ever worked on, 2003’s Pokémon Colosseum, today he is paying tribute to its sequel, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness.

As Turner points out, today marks the 15th anniversary of Pokémon XD’s Japanese launch. His latest artwork depicts protagonist Michael with his starter Pokémon Eevee, along with his sister Jovi and her Minun and Plusle.

Turner also worked on Pokémon XD’s opening cutscene, some minor characters, as well as the star of the game’s box art and the ultimate Shadow Pokémon, Shadow Lugia.
