Splatoon 2’s rematch of the Team Ketchup vs. Team Mayo Splatfest is almost here! Inklings from all over the world are getting excited to see if Team Ketchup can steal the winning title away from Team Mayo, but so are a few food brands.
On Twitter, food companies that have dedicated social media accounts to certain products have started to chime in on the great Team Ketchup vs. Team Mayo debate. And surprise, it’s all to push Team Ketchup to the top!
Heinz’s Ketchup Twitter account threw down the first bottle of Heinz 57 goodness yesterday via a Twitter ad. Ripe, simple, and sweet, the iconic glass ketchup bottle has earned some Inkling Squid eyes and is ready to hype up the tomato-based condiment.

The Twitter account, @HeinzKetchup_US, has continued to tweet out support for Team Ketchup and changed their Twitter banner to sport the team’s hashtag.

While a company hasn’t stepped up to rep Team Mayo, a new third-party has been suggested to enter the fray — Team Miracle Whip.

The mayo alternative isn’t sporting the #TeamKetchup, but a vote for #TeamMiracleWhip takes away another Inkling from Team Mayo.
With a day to go before Team Ketchup vs. Team Mayo Splatfest kicks off, who knows what other brands will join in online? Hellmann’s/Best Foods or Heinz Mayo haven’t stepped up to claim the #TeamMayo battle cry, and it wouldn’t be a massive shock if Arby’s joined in the festivities with a ketchup drawing?
Regardless, you better prepare your Inkling and cast your vote for Team Ketchup or Team Mayo by battling it out this weekend! The matches start Friday, May 22nd, at 3 p.m. PT | 6 p.m. ET and it’ll go on until Sunday, May 24th, at 3 p.m. PT | 6 p.m. ET.
