Since launch, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been holding online event tourneys that focus specifically on the characters introduced in each iteration of Smash, complete with cute call-back artwork. Back in August ’19 we had Smash 64’s original fighters, and in January it was Melee’s turn. Now? It’s time for the Brawlers.

In the promotional tweet we can see the likes of Toon Link, King Dedede, Sonic, Olimar, and more from the Wii game’s massive (at the time) newcomer roster standing on a cliff’s edge looking at the sunset, referencing both Brawl’s opening and Subspace Emissary’s ending.

We’ll just have to wait and see how the game hearkens back to Smash Wii U/3DS!

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
