When it comes to platform fighters that follow in the footsteps of Super Smash Bros., Rivals of Aether has proven to be one of the most popular since it fully released via Steam in 2017. We’ve known a Switch port of the game has been in the works since January 2018, and we now finally have a general release window for the game – Summer 2020. This news came via a silly “Rivals Direct” which also confirmed various other modes and features that’ll be bundled in with this “Definitive Edition”.

Not only that but the Rivals Direct also teased a few future projects set within the Rivals of Aether universe, including what appears to be a turn-based RPG and a 3D game. A beta for the card-based Creatures of Aether for iOS and Android is also in the pipeline.

It’s looking like it’s going to be a busy couple of years for Rivals of Aether!
