Ahh, the New Year; with it, we get resolutions and predictions on what might be. The video game industry is no different, and some leading analysts have given their predictions on what we might expect from 2020. One such analyst is Dr. Serkan Toto, founder of Kantan Games, who believes 2020 is the year of the Nintendo Switch Pro.

Dr. Toto, who correctly predicted the Switch Lite launch and neither the Xbox Series X nor PlayStation 5 in 2019, stated, “There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Nintendo will launch a ‘Switch Pro’ in 2020.” His full statement on the unconfirmed system can be seen below:

“There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Nintendo will launch a “Switch Pro” in 2020, my guess is at $399. More specifically, I predict 4K support, bigger cartridge sizes, and of course beefed-up components. I also think the device will launch after the summer holidays to counter the roll-out of the PS5 and next-gen Xbox later in the year – along with a first-party, system-seller game.”

One other projection from Dr. Toto is that he expects Nintendo to launch another big mobile game, with IPs like “Zelda app or Smash Bros.” mentioned.

Predictions for the upcoming year are always fun, of course, but keep in mind that this is all just speculation. If a Nintendo Switch “Pro” does see the light of day, we’ll be sure to let you know. Do you have any predictions of Nintendo’s projects for 2020?
