Developer Atlus says that Shin Megami Tensei V is still “under active development,” according to a leak from Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu issue #1621.

The Famitsu issue, which includes New Year’s cards and information about 2020 plans from 54 different Japanese developers, includes the following comment from Atlus:

“Both Shin Megami Tensei V and Project Re Fantasy are under active development.”

What would become Shin Megami Tensei V was revealed during the Nintendo Switch’s unveiling in January 2017 while the Nintendo Switch-exclusive game was officially announced in October 2017.

Since then, details about its development have been sparse and little is known about the game apart from its planned launch in both Japan and the West.

Last year’s Famitsu 2019 New Year’s card from Atlus stated there would be a “follow-up report” on Shin Megami Tensei V in 2019; however, this never happened.
