You can pre-order your copy of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition at Best Buy.

Nintendo capped off its Nintendo Direct today in the best way possible — with a port of one of the best games out there. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will remaster the Wii masterpiece for the Switch, due out in 2020.

From the first, sorrowful piano notes of the main theme, we get a look at iconic environments like Gaur Plains and the Fallen Arm, which look great in a new lighting engine. It looks like models and environments have been completely remade for this new port: we get glimpses of the updated appearances of Shulk, Fiora, and many more. The trailer even ends with a shot of a new area, which bears a certain resemblance to the “Bionis’ Shoulder” area cut during development (and also appears to feature Melia in a new outfit?).

As the resident Xenoblade enthusiast, here is my thoughtful, considerate take:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH it’s so pretty! OH MY GOD! It’s all I’ve ever wanted! GOTY 2020 baby!

Ahem.

We’ll be sure to provide new details on the XBCDE as they become in.
