Update 1: Nintendo of America has officially provided details about the release of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD in North America via Twitter. The game will be rolling onto Switch on October 29th!

It has been a badly kept secret for months now thanks to trademark leaks, but now it’s official that Super Monkey Ball is coming back and heading to Switch.

The news comes via Famitsu, which confirms the game will be a remake of the 2006 Wii launch title Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz.

Given that the original focused heavily on Wii Remote motion controls, it has likely been tweaked quite a bit.

The game will head to Switch and PS4 in Japan on October 31st, 2019. A Steam version will follow in December. We’ll be sure to bring you more information as it comes in!
