Earlier this year, a few games were found to take advantage of a new “Boost” mode within the Switch hardware, which notably improved loading times in the likes of Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. Now, another game is being patched to take advantage of the internal overclock – Crash Team Racing.

As noted in Activision’s patch notes for the upcoming 1.0.5 update, Boost mode will be leveraged to speed up load times. In our review, these lengthy waits were one of the few negatives we noted in what was otherwise a content-rich kart racer, so it seems Activision has listened to the concerns.

Across all platforms the game will also see bug fixes and better online stability. The Switch update will land sometime this week.
