Timberline Studios’ debut title The Red Lantern was revealed today for the Switch during the Nindies Spring Showcase, taking up a sizable portion of the presentation in the process. Game Director Lindsey Rostal came on to present, both a little nervous and very excited, and for good reason — in one short trailer the game encapsulate a great deal of emotion and intrigue.
The Red Lantern has you taking control of an unnamed woman who joins the Iditarod Dog Sled Race in order to prove herself capable of doing something important. The game combines “roguelike” elements with hundreds of unique events and a narrative to craft a unique experience, as you must tend to your dogs, your wounds, and your supplies in order to survive and finish the race.
